Project Canary Appoints Scott Lang as Chairman and CEO

Lang brings deep experience scaling technology companies in the energy sector.

DENVER, March 12th, 2024—Project Canary, the leading emissions intelligence platform helping companies reduce GHG emissions, today announced the appointment of Scott Lang as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of its Board of Directors following an extensive national search.   

Project Canary’s investors include Insight Partners, Brookfield, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), Quantum Capital Group, and Energy Impact Partners.   

“Drawing on his proven track record of building disruptive technology across the energy sector, Scott will help Project Canary scale solutions to best serve customers,” said board member Jeffrey Harris. “The board is excited to work with Scott to accelerate performance and execution of the industry’s only one-stop emissions management platform.”   

Lang brings over 30 years of leadership and management experience to Project Canary. Among his previous roles, Scott served as founding Chairman and CEO of Silver Spring Networks, an early pioneer in smart grid technology, and led the company to a successful IPO on the NYSE in 2013.

In addition to his previous role at Silver Spring Networks, Lang has also served as Chairman and CEO of Turvo, a logistics platform for the global supply chain, and led the Strategic Markets Group at Perot Systems, which served the Global Energy, Communications, Media, and Travel and Transportation industries. Lang holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi and is a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program at The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
